What is the difference between stacked and cut-out layers?

Stacked layers sit on top of each other, so no hairline gaps show between colours. Cut-out layers are separate shapes that never overlap, which is easier to edit or cut on a plotter but can show thin seams.

How do I get a transparent SVG?

Tick Remove background. The colour that owns most of the image border is left out, and transparent pixels in a PNG are never traced.
